SAN FRANCISCO-OAKLAND BAY BRIDGE NEW EAST SPANS – SKYWAY STRUCTURES

Seismic analyses and design for the Skyway Structures – twin 1.6mile long precast segmental viaducts with typical spans of 525 ft. with pile foundations extending 70m to 90m into the bay mud; seismic analyses of the skyway included linear response spectrum analyses, non-linear time-history analyses and nonlinear pushover analyses; Construction cost – $1,100 million; Principal Engineer’s experience – work performed at SOHA Engineers.
